Yea Sunshine!

sunbathing babyToday is an “Easy-to-Praise-God” kinda day. I am sitting here in my office, halfway through the day on a Friday, looking out my windows at a beautiful, sunny, warm, almost-spring day. Work has been going well; school is fun and exciting for once in my life, and I can’t think of anything that I absolutely have to fix this weekend! It’s just one of those days were you sit back, smile and say, “yeah, this is good.”

In this life, these kinda days are probably occur less than the rougher days. It’s days like today where it is easy to praise God for all his blessings – health, a wonderful wife and beautiful children, a home, a job, plenty of food, and money in the bank. But what about those days where life is not going so well. Can I truly praise God any way? Job sure did, and I really don’t know if I lost it all if I could still praise God for being God. Or even like Paul who was stuck in a cold, damp, dark and filthy prison cell sang hymns and praises to God anyway.

I thank God for “recharging days” like today, but I also thank him for the not-so-easy days He sends. It is then I know He cares enough to teach me a lesson or two. I just don’t always look forward to them…
