A(nother) Friend in Need

bcslogo.jpgOk, so a lot of prayer seems to be needed these days. I guess these stories are good reminders that no matter what happens in our lives, we must always look to God for our strength, and friends and family for support.

A long-time friend of mine (from waaaaaaaay back in elementary school) was diagnosed about a year ago with rheumatoid arthritis, which is not the typical arthritis of old age, but a nasty disease that causes the immune system to attack the joints. She has been battling this for some time, and only recently received the diagnosis. She has been on and off medicines and treatments and all kinds of stuff. Her latest update is:

“I’m surviving.  I switched my meds around many months ago to try for a little bit.  I’m only taking a weekly shot that I self inject in my stomach.  Since I’m not combining my drugs anymore, I am having more issues.  It could be worse though.  I just gotta take one day at a time.  It’s been a nice relaxing summer.  I’m just stressing out for the school year to start already.  I’ve got the baseball team in a class this fall, so I will be training 45 guys by myself in 1 hour 15 minutes!!! “

Please keep Michelle in your prayers as she and Barry continue to battle the disease.

Know that Michelle is in our prayers. She is not dealing with an easy disease and I will pray for strength and comfort for her.
