He leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
– Psalm 23:2-3
Feeling tired, worn out, or just plain exhausted? Is life too noisy and full of distractions?
I remember a place down the road where I grew up that was my “get away and think” place. It was a river bank that was off the road, down a hill, out of the way where few went. I remember going there many years as a young teen, and just sitting and listening to the soft water sounds that seemed to take everything away. I remember feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after sitting there, talking to God and just listening. It truly “restored my soul” when it needed it most.
I miss that place, but I know God has “quiet, rejuvenating waters” for us when we need them. All we have to do is ask when we feel the noise and burdens of life weighing us down. He has a spiritual “riverbank” waiting for us any time we need.
