I have been reading through the book of Acts for my personal devotions. I am truly fascinated by Paul and his incredible oratory skills. (and I like how he can talk too) It is so amazing to me to see how Paul could face any single person or group of people and *click* with them by finding common ground. He spoke with all levels of people, from the common to highly-ranked political figures. He even called out Ananias, the Jewish high priest, for his sin! (Acts 23:3 – yikes!)
It is important to know that Paul was a man used by God and that much of his speaking was simply Paul letting the Holy Spirit speak through him. But this was a decision at one point by Paul to allow God to use him this way. How many times have I shied away from confrontation or awesome opportunities to speak for God just because of fear or uncertainty? Too many to count. We must make the most of every opportunity to speak for Him, and we can knowing we have the Holy Spirit to do all the talkin’!
