Always There!

Joshua 1:9

“…The LORD God will be with you wherever you go.”

Matthew 28:20

“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

I was able to work at home yesterday, so I was with the kids while my wife took care of some appointments/errands she needed to for the day. I had a revelation, yea an epiphany if you will, at one time during the day: No matter where I went in the house, whatever room, my girls eventually showed up. If I went upstairs to our bedroom to work, no less than 2 minutes later, the ball that Cinderella 1 and Cinderella 2 were going to just so happened to be taking place right there in my bedroom. So I would go down to the kitchen table, and “PRESTO!” the kitchen became the amazing world of make believe. No matter where I go in the house, my girls want to be with me. (This seems especially true for bathroom time – a locked door is like a magnet to little girls and things that can slide under doors.)

However, I know that won’t last. (mixed feelings…) Eventually, my girls will grow, become independent and wish to do things on their own. The day they leave me, is one I dread, heavily. They will be missed, heavily.

Isn’t is amazing to know that in the same way, Jesus promised to always be with us, where ever we are and go? In a world of pain, suffering, disappointment and grief, He will always want to be where we are, even if we are the one’s causing the pain, suffering, disappointment and grief. He will never leave us or forsake us (I Kings 8:57)!

This Month’s Verse:

"For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

-- Isaiah 9:6-7
