Well, my family and I survived our weekend tent camping experience. The girls did better than expected sleeping in the tent, and I only had to fight off 1 bear-sized raccoon at 2 in the morning on Sunday. The weather was very pleasant, and there was so much to do that kept the girls busy.
This weekend was our family reunion in Pokagon State Park in Angola, Indiana. It is one of the nicest parks I have ever been too. Besides camping, there is Lake James that invites swimming (just ask Abigail!) and boating, horseback riding, a Lodge with a pool, plenty of hiking trails, and a lot of good times.
However, even though it was a positive experience, Abigail and I decided we are probably not tent campers. Just not us. Too much dirt. And mosquitoes. (You know, you can cover yourself from head to toe with 10 layers of bug spray and those little blood-suckers still get their lunch from you…) So, anyone want to buy a once-used family-sized tent?
